What kind of mods are you talking about?

if you mean mods of items like prefixes, suffixes, etc ... dedication system does not mind them in hom at all. nor does it mind dye or other stuff.

Storing one of 11 skins should be in no way different from storing one of other 700. If it were, someone seriously messed up.

(unless you are implying that there would be need to store information about each skin. noone wants it, 11 items only limit was not qqed about.)

And even veterans... I'm not gonna get a LDoA simply because it goes in my HoM. I need to find an interest there. Just like with the destroyer weapons, which I really don't like most of the skins. Sure I'd like to be able to show my fav weapons, probably only the skins anyways... which when you think about it, shouldn't be too hard IMHO. Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't displaying the items the same as if you'd see it on someone else? If so, then I'd say to allow all kinds of green or rare-skinned weapons (I guess). If not, then I can understand the mass coding, meshing, skinning...

But yeah, I find it annoying that you can only enter Destroyer weapons. I don't like them at all (except the scythe), and I surely won't spend money on something I don't like just to pretty up my HoM O_o.

So until then, won't be anything in there. And I don't really mind it. Annoying yes, but I can live without it. I'm not doing this to impress anyone by collecting up stuff I don't like.

It probably wouldn't be very difficult at all to simply have them display in the HoM. But that's not really the issue. The whole point of the hall is to store your achievements and have them rewarded in some way in GW2. It's just not realistic to expect Anet to program that many rewards into the game.

Yes, that's probably the biggest issue. It's why I suspect there is a generic Animal Companion pet rather than skins of all the pets - there will only be one generic reward for that statue.

Okay, back on topic. I agree with you, I think it's totally stupid that only Destroyer weapons can be added. Yes those are the main enemies of GWEN, which is where the Hall of Monuments is, but good God, not everyone wants to shell out 5k plus diamonds and other rare materials for a weapon no better than any others. What makes it good is that it's all about the mods. The skin adds a nice touch, but in the end the mods are what make it good. So I think all weapons should be allowed to be in there.

I use only green weapons and was very proud when I acquired Urgoz's Longbow. I wanted to display that but no, I'd have to buy a weapon that I find very ugly and pricey for what it is to display it. Not only that, it doesn't even customize with the added 20% damage. This should seriously be fixed.

That's another thing, not everyone wants one of those (in my opinion) ugly black moa birds, not everyone can get a black widow (I got right to the end and the runners let a ghost die so we didn't get it), and not everyone wants a phoenix. There are so many different pets in the game and everyone has their favorites, I think they should get a statue of the pet they chose instead of the animal companion one. Full statues shouldn't be limited to the "special" ones.

Also something I need to point out to the OP.

Tormented weapons ARE NOT gold sinks. Gold sinks remove money from the economy. Tormented weapons cost money only if you buy them from other players. At which point, the money isn't removed from the economy (like it is when you buy skills, armor, id kits, and crafted weapons) but simpley transfered to another player.

It makes more sense to allow any weapon to be displayed and charge 50-75k to display each weapon if it is not a destroyer weapon. If you fill the valor monument you get your reward for grinding when GW2 comes out. (I can see the forms filling up with I will not pay 50-75k to display an elemental sword I bought for 100k.)

I think all monuments should be this way, so if you wish to display something that normal would not go into the monument you pay a fee to have it displayed. This would be the only way I could display my 600 armor along with my 55 armor, Smite armor, and healer armor.

I am sorry to say but I have come to see the HoM mostly as just a reward for grinding. Now if you will excuse me I have to go grind so I can finish out my third characters set of armor for the HoM. (10 Character Total - Grinding is starting to take its toll.)

Thanks
Shayne

Just wanted to point out that some players actually buy the materials from NPC's, in which case the money is not transferred to another player. Moot point anyway.

I have no weapons in my HoM. My other monuments are beginning to fill up nicely. Although I could afford it, I just don't feel like spending the money for the materials needed to craft the weapons, and I would like to see other weapons being allowed.

Fair for all would be if monument accepted all (max) golds and greens.

Besides my HoM is screaming out for Flints Fleshcleaver

Of course there's an excuse for only allowing destroyer weapons. Rewards for GW2? Too many skins to show? Who cares, the excuse is not the point.

The point is, there shouldn't be any need to explain lame features in a game, because there shouldn't be lame features to begin with. If you can't do it right, don't do it.

Implementing a weapon monument this particular way is like finally implementing a hairdresser that only allows people to forever and irrevocably remove all hair from their characters. It would be a very lame hairdresser, and not a lot of people would bother with it. Just like we're looking at a very lame weapon monument, and not bothering with it.

Lame.

this is why I have yet to add the tapestry to that area....I will probably never get one of those ugly useless weapons so why bother with even displaying the tapestry?
Now if the get a few braincells working and change it, I might put some up, but until then /fail

I second this. There should be more weapons that can go into your Hall of Monuments.

Thats what they do all the time, and when they do, the masses come back to GW to take advantage of the new update
.
next time please say J/K because there are a few people moronic enough to take you seriously

after all it does not have any effect on gameplay
the scrying pool could be anywhere
it wont do a thing until/unless linked to a GW2 account

I'd post a Slowpoke picture if I had one.

But yes, Valor is completely and thoroughly retarded in its current state...

I hate when people say they have freedom of speech and interpret it like it applies to everything. Freedom of speech protects the people from the GOVERNMENT, it doesn't mean you're free to say what you want anywhere you please.

Anyway, I believe that since the rewards in GWII are based on what you put in the monument is the reason that only Destroyer Weapons can go in there. I would think each weapon equals a different reward. So you don't like Destroyer weapons, fair enough. Put one in the HoM, trash it, and then collect your reward in GWII. Meh, I dunno.

It's Anet's fault for hyping it too much...

They should have just said, "Buy GWEN so you can take GWEN items with you to GW2."

Then had all the Pets, Weapons, Armor, etc. from GWEN only... (it would still suck, but we'd all expect it to suck!)

This topic's been discussed and discussed.
Your answer does not make sense, it should just accept all campaing's weapons, destroyer weapons are not even that cool or great, the point of the guy that started this topic is really that anet should just let you put other kind of weapons.

But what ever.
